Our Music day camps are available at Lambda School of Music and Fine Arts, in the West Island of Montreal, where students are fully immersed in their music and the company of other music learners playing piano, violin, guitar and learning music theory.

PIANO PROGRAM

PROMOTIONAL BEGINNERS' PROGRAM
(Suitable for beginners with no prior experience)
This introductory program is  suitable for beginners (for all ages 5 and up to adults) with no background in piano. Students will learn the basic technique of piano playing (including proper posture, technique, playing with good tone and rhythm, reading music). No pre-requisite is necessary. 


GENERAL PIANO PROGRAM
(Suitable for students who aim for a comprehensive learning experience in music)
​Students will develop their skills in piano playing, and learn pieces of different genres as well as pieces of their choice. Students will continue to develop skills in note reading, sight-reading, ear-training, and some basic music  theory. 
Students in this program may pursue RCM examinations (Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations), as well as examinations in other systems.
Students are encouraged to participate in our biannual recitals  (in December and in June) to offer a goal as well as enrich their experiences in public performance. 
This program is suitable for students who have taken lessons for 1 or more years.


FAST-TRACKING PROGRAM
(Suitable for dedicated and serious students who wish to fully challenge their abilities)
The fast-tracking program is suitable for students who are ready to fully challenge their musical development. Students in the fast-tracking program will enrol to study with a principle teacher for their regular music training (learning new pieces, note reading, basic technique), and will also take regular masterclasses with a master teacher on performance aspects such as concert technique, refinement of repertoire, and musical artistry.

Fast-tracking students are required to take music theory lessons in tandem to enrich their musical background to enhance their understanding of pieces that they are learning. 

Students from the fast-tracking program will be required to give regular performances, play masterclasses, concerts, recordings, and also participate in music competitions to fully challenge their capacities.

Students will experience exponential progress (at a pace approximately 10 to 15 times faster than normal) under this unique system of training in this program.


ADVANCED CONCERT PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
(Suitable for students who wish to embark a professional performance career)

This program is intended for serious and committed students who wish to enter piano performance program in CEGEPs or UNIVERSITY. A unique curriculum is developed based on the individual needs of the student to help them meet their goals.

A formal evaluation is necessary in order to determine the suitability of this program for a candidate.  Pre-requisites in piano performance and theory are necessary for consideration of entrance into this program. 

 

MUSIC / PIANO SUMMER CAMP 2019 

Lambda also offers a Piano / Music Summer Camp in 2019 for children ages 6 and up. The summer music / piano camp will last 2 weeks (from 5-9 August and 12-16 August 2019)


Students with no prior experience will have a first hand exposure to piano and music. They will learn how to play the piano, read music, and enjoy group classes with like minded students (some of which have a rich experience in piano). This way, students can enrich one another's experience through interaction, and immersion.

Students with experience in piano will continue to develop their technique, and learn new pieces of music, as well as refine their current repertoire. There will be private  piano lessons, masterclasses, guided practice, group classes in theory, history, composition, group activities, fun games, and exercises.
